Wayne Mark Rooney (born 24 October 1985 in Liverpool) is an English football who plays for D.C. United as a striker.
He is the son of Thomas Rooney and Mrs. Jeanette Rooney. His parents Mr and Mrs Rooney were Irish descent citizens who migrated to Liverpool, England. He attended Our Lady and St Swithin’s primary school and later went to De La Salle Humanities College. Ever since his childhood, he was a supporter of his local club Everton with whom he signed a contract in 2002. He scored 253 goals for Manchester United in all competitions to make him their top goalscorer of all time, with 183 Premier League goals being the most scored by a player for any single club. Rooney's 208 Premier League goals make him the Premier League's second top scorer of all time behind only Alan Shearer.

      He made his debut for Manchester United in 2004-05 in a home game against Fenerbahcein the UEFA Championship League. He scored a hat-trick in a 6-2 victory and was hailed as a sensational debutant.
      In the 2006 League Cup, he scored twice in his team’s 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the final. He was named man of the match. He had amassed 16 goals in 36 Premier League games in the 2005-06 season.
In the 2007-08 season, Rooney missed many matches due to injuries. However, he finished the season with 18 goals and starred in his team’s victory over Chelsea in which Manchester United clinched the Champions League.
He became the youngest player in league history to have made 200 appearances when he played against the Blackburn Rovers in October 2008. In 2009, he scored his final league goal of the season against Tottenham. Overall, he scored 20 goals in the 2008-09 season.
In a February 2011 match against Manchester city in Manchester derby, he scored an overhead volley which proved to be the winning goal in their 2-1 win. Within a few weeks, he scored the third goal in a 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic. In April the same year, he scored his first hat-trick of the season in a 4-2 away win over West Ham United.
He won the The BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2002 for being "touted by many as the most promising English football talent to have surfaced in recent years." He was adjudged PFA Young Player of the Year for two seasons (2004-05, 2005-06). This award is given annually by Professional Footballers' Association to the best player of the season in English Football who is aged 23 or under.
           As a school boy he had a record of scoring 72 goals in one season, which was broken by another Liverpool schoolboy, Gerard in 2010.
      When he was nine years of age, he was spotted by BOB PENDLETON and asked  to join “Everton FC”. Rooney joined the youth team at Everton for whom he made his 1st professional debut in 2002. As one of the worlds most famous soccer   players, Rooney has endorsement deals with Nike and EA sports. Coca cola ended its relationship with the Manchester star in 2011 in the wake of a scandal over his alleged involvement with prostitutes and his deliberate use of profanity during a televised game.
He is the only English player, alongside teammate Michael Carrick, to win the Premier LeagueFA CupUEFA Champions LeagueLeague CupUEFA Europa League, and FIFA Club World Cup
After a long time with united finally he returned to Everton in 2017.
In 2018 he joined MLS club DC united where he scored 23 goals in 48 matches.
Currently he is playing in the club Derby County as a player cum coach.
He ended his International career with 53 goals in 120 matches for England.
Rooney met his wife, Coleen Rooney (nΓ©e McLoughlin), while both were at secondary school.They married on 12 June 2008 after six years of dating.Rooney's wife gave birth to a son on 2 November 2009, Kai Wayne.the couple's second child ,Klay Anthony ,was born on 21 May 2013 , and their third , Kit Joseph , was Born ON 24 January2016. In 15th February 2018 they gave birth to their fourth child Cass Mac Rooney.
